Oh Sigourney Weaver how I heart your comments pertaining to the “prequel” of the Alien movie.  She seems really happy that Ridley Scott will be producing and seems to loathe the Alien vs Predators films.  I think it’s safe to say this crew agrees with you Sigourney.  We weren’t thrilled with them either.  Sigourney Weaver FTW!

“Well, I don’t think that Ripley could appear in an Alien prequel because she doesn’t have any access to the creature until the first Alien, “says Weaver on the rumors. “But Ridley (Scott) is producing it and that makes me happy. I wasn’t thrilled with the whole Alien Vs. Predator thing.”

Rob SomebodyIf you don’t have a NetFlix account you really should get one NOW!  Ok so we’ve covered that now let’s move foreword.  My latest NetFlix disc came in and to my surprise it was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  The film starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, a slew of others and it was directed by David Fincher.  I’ve been a David Fincher fan since Alien 3.  Yeah I know say what you will about that flick but, that’s beside the point.  This film was an amazing watch I must admit.  For the first hour an average viewer would  never even realize the digital trickery to make Brad Pitt like like an old man boy.  The story was engaging and I never felt bored with this film.  The only issue here was the length of this film clocking in at 2 hours and 45 minutes YIKES.  Like I said I never felt bored and the story was engaging but, WOW sssoooooo long.  I’m still giving this film a solid A regardless of it’s length.   This film is surely a rainy Sunday day kind of film but, breaks the clouds with a good engaging story.

RobNotAmusedYup another horror remake is on the horizon.  Yet another classic plagued by the stupidity of Hollywood.  Oh remember that classic scene when David Naughton transforms into a werewolf the first time?  Such a memorable scene and break through for visual FX in the horror genre.  Now it’ll surely be plagued with CGI and piss off Rick Baker who was the FX designer for the original film.  There’s a quote from John Landis on this blunder.  Mr Landis it’s already a brilliant movie imo.  Why would you say such crazy talk?

“Dimension is now in negotiation for the ‘An American Werewolf in London’ remake rights. Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it,

maximum-movie-feature-on-watchmen-blu-ray-could-be-the-reason-to-get-a-player

Blu-Ray has been on the market for about 2 years now and it’s feature set has been lacking and under utilized. But with the release of Watchmen on Blu-Ray (July 21, 2009) there might be a glimmer of hope for the format yet. This is a much more robust delivery of a similar production on the recently released Ghostbusters Blu-Ray. I enjoy these director commentary track so much that it’s the main reason I started to buy DVDs back when that format emerged. Check out he following video and make your own decision. But I’d say getting a Blu-Ray player might be in the future for die hard film-philes and Watchmen fans.
